Season 14 of America's Got Talent premiered on May 28, 2019. Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell returned as judges. Terry Crews replaced Tyra Banks as host. Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough replaced Mel B and Heidi Klum as judges.
Dunkin' Donuts continued to be the official beverage sponsor of this season, having its products shown throughout the show and their cups on the judges' desks.
Season 14 Auditions
Each act that performed in front of the judges was given 90 seconds to demonstrate their talents for the four judges. If an act received at least three "Yes" votes from the judges, they were accepted to the next round. Otherwise, they were eliminated from the competition.
Season 14 Judge Cuts
72 acts were pulled from the 100+ acts that were accepted by the judges in the Auditions. The Judge Cuts took place over four days; every day, 18 acts performed with only 7 moving on to the Quarterfinals.
Joining the main judging panel were four guest judges. While each regular judge was given a normal buzzer, each guest had only a Golden Buzzer which he or she could press to send an act to the live shows without further deliberation as one of the 7 acts.
The Judge Cuts were filmed on April 18, 22, 25, and 28, 2019.
Season 14 Quarterfinals
From the 36 Quarterfinalists, 12 acts performed each week over three weeks. Each week, 7 acts moved on to the Semifinals.
The contestants that came in sixth, seventh, and eighth place in America's Vote fought for votes online in the Dunkin' Save. The act who received the most votes earned a spot in the Semifinals. The judges voted between the two remaining acts the last spot of the week in the Semifinals in the Judges' Choice..

The Season 14 Finals set the record for the most Golden Buzzer acts competing, with 6. It is also the first Finals to feature choir acts, with 2 choirs participating. Every finalist this season received standing ovations from all four judges during the Finals.
- Benicio Bryant. Bryant, just 14 years old, wowed the judges with his performance of Brandi Carlile‘s “The Joke” at his audition, going on to perform a series of original songs in subsequent rounds.
- Detroit Youth Choir. Led by director Anthony T. White, this group brings high energy to each of their performances, which feature singing, rapping, and exuberant choreography.
- Emanne Beasha. One might experience cognitive dissonance watching 10-year-old Beasha sing, given the power of her voice and her operatic performances. After auditioning with a Puccini aria and advancing steadily through the rounds, Beasha surprised everyone in the semifinals with the choice to perform Bryan Adams’ “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You” in Italian.
- Kodi Lee. If there’s a fan favorite going into the finals, it’s probably pianist-singer Kodi Lee. Lee, who is blind and autistic, has repeatedly turned in emotional performances over the course of the season, beginning with a rendition of Leon Russell’s “A Song for You” at his audition that moved Hough to tears and earned a Golden Buzzer from Union.
