Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery is a 1997 American comedy spy movie. It was directed by Jay Roach and was produced by Jan Blenkin, John S. Lyons, Eric McLeod, Demi Moore, and Mike Myers. It is the first entry of the Austin Powers movie series with a sequel released in 1999 followed by a second sequel in 2002.
Synopsis. In 1967, British spy Austin Powers (Mike Myers) attempts to assassinate his nemesis, Dr. Evil, in his own nightclub (the Electric Psychedelic Pussycat Swingers Club). Dr. Evil escapes by launching himself in a space rocket disguised as a Bob's Big Boy statue, and Cryogenically freezing himself.
Plot. Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. In 1967, British spy Austin Powers thwarts an assassination attempt by his arch-nemesis Dr. Evil in a London nightclub. Dr. Evil escapes in a space rocket disguised as a Big Boy statue and cryogenically freezes himself.
