Name’s influence on Warhol as a confidant and collaborator altered the trajectory modern and contemporary aesthetics and his legacy as an image-maker and intermediary cannot be overstated.

William George Linich (February 22, 1940 – July 18, 2016), known professionally as Billy Name, was an American photographer, filmmaker, and lighting designer. He was the archivist of The Factory from 1964 to 1970.
Jul 19, 2016 · It was a fortuitous day in 1959 that Billy Name (né William Linich Jr.) met Andy Warhol —for both parties involved. Warhol went on to famously rename the Poughkeepsie, New York native, took him as a lover for a brief time, and posted him as in-house photographer at the Factory during its prime.
