  3. Deering died February 5, 1927, in Miami, and was buried at Graceland Cemetery in Chicago. In 1930, construction began on the Charles Deering Library at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Funding was provided primarily through donations made by the Deering, McCormick, and Danielson families.
