Curtis Edward Gowdy (July 31, 1919 – February 20, 2006) was an American sportscaster. He called Boston Red Sox games on radio and TV for 15 years, and then covered many nationally televised sporting events, primarily for NBC Sports and ABC Sports in the 1960s and 1970s.
Synopsis. From 1965 to 1967, the program was hosted by Joe Foss, former South Dakota Republican Governor, American Football League commissioner, and World War II hero. It was later hosted by Grits Gresham, an outdoorsman from Natchitoches, Louisiana, before its best known host, Curt Gowdy .
