When a naïve young Dorian Gray arrives in a train to Victorian London, to inherit an estate left to him by his abusive Grandfather, he is swept into a social whirlwind by the charismatic Lord Henry Wotton, who introduces Gray to the hedonistic pleasures of the city.
An adaptation of the story was broadcast on the CBS Radio Mystery Theater on August 7, 1974. A two-part adaptation of the novel by Nick McCarty was broadcast on BBC Radio 4, subsequently on BBC Radio 7 and BBC Radio 4 Extra, starring Ian McDiarmid as Henry Wotton and Jamie Glover as Dorian.
