Aug 1, 2018 · The unlikely hero. I’ll be completely honest and admit that I thought Shen Lin would be a martial arts expert along the lines of Jet Li. If Shen Lin knows any kind of martial art, then we certainly don’t get to see it in Edge of Fear. Instead, he portrays a kind (and somewhat naive) doctor, who thinks all people are good and decent.
EDGE OF FEAR is a surprisingly enjoyable little home invasion thriller, much better than you'd expect given the OTT reviews on this site. Sure, it's made on a tiny budget and it has an average script at best, but the film does contain some decent performances from decent actors and it has a great deal of suspense which I wasn't expecting either.
