The Fort Worth Japanese Garden was completed in 1973. It is a traditional stroll garden with winding paths through the landscapes and around ponds. The Garden consists of 7.5 acres filled with cherry trees, Japanese maples, magnolias, bamboo, bridges, and ponds which are home to over 1,200 Koi fish.
While 90% of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden is free to the public, you will have to pay a small admission fee to see the fall colors in the Japanese Garden. Stroll the garden, the winding paths lead you through tranquil landscapes and water features.

May 18, 2023 · The Fort Worth Japanese Garden features 150 cherry blossom trees, koi ponds, and magnolias, while Hermann Park boasts 20 cherry trees donated by Chiba of Japan, Houston's sister city. Visitors to both sites can also see many other flowers like azaleas, Japanese maples, dogwoods, and peach trees.

Just driving through the Garden is a treat as pear, cherry, peach, and crab apple trees bloom throughout. You can also spot tulips and daffodils. The wisteria is in full bloom along the walkways in the Fuller and Rose Gardens. In the Japanese Garden, multitudes of cherry, peach, and crabapple trees are in bloom.
By April the leaves have turned a rich dark green creating a lush and romantic environment. Roses in the historic Rose Garden have begun blooming. In the Fuller and Perennial Gardens, many perennials are in bloom, filling each turn with a new and spectacular surprise of color.
Pansies, Dianthus, Snapdragons, Alyssum, Narcissus (daffodils), Summer snowflake, Mexican plum, Redbud trees, Mexican buckeye, Rusty blackhaw viburnum, Lady Banks’ Rose, Ox-eye daisy, Four-nerve daisy, Hardy gladiolus, Coral honeysuckle, and Chinese snowball.
