Jun 4, 2020 · McHugh passed away in Greenwich Hospital in Connecticut at age 83. He and his wife are buried in the Spencer family plot at Fairview Cemetery, located in West Hartford, Connecticut. His papers are now housed at the Billy Rose Theatre Division of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Today, some of McHugh’s residences still remain.
