The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is a museum founded by filmmaker George Lucas and his wife, businesswoman Mellody Hobson. Once completed, the museum will hold all forms of visual storytelling, including painting, photography, sculpture, illustration, comic art, performance, and video.
Lucas’s belief in the power of an image to capture our humanity and convey emotion is at the heart of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. Growing up in Modesto, California, Lucas devoured the popular art available to him on magazine covers, in comic books and at the movies.

An 11-acre campus with extensive new green space designed by Studio-MLA will embrace the museum’s 300,000 square foot building, which will feature 100,000 square feet of gallery space, two state-of-the-art theaters, and dedicated spaces for learning and engagement, dining, retail, and events.
