The set could open up to reveal several features: An Astrobeam Chamber that could slide down and 'hide' figures. A flipping map trap door. A Periscope Scanner.
The Gobotron Fortress! Does it exist? Yes. I'm a good 95% sure back in 1999 at the Kane County Fairgrounds toy show I saw one boxed. I walked upon the booth and saw a stack of boxed games and playsets. I saw the side of the box with this picture and "GoBotron Fortress".

Nov 13, 2020 · Like a lot of the toy lines we mention there was a playset, the Gobotron Fortress, that many saw in catalogues, that never was released. Ok, now let’s get complicated shall we! In 1991, Hasbro bought out Tonka , so the and received the Gobot trademarks ; but the molds for the action figures remain the property of Bandai.
