Gordon Tootoosis, CM (October 25, 1941 – July 5, 2011) was a First Nations actor of Cree and Stoney descent. Tootoosis was a descendant of Yellow Mud Blanket, brother of the famous Cree leader Pîhtokahanapiwiyin. He was acclaimed for his commitment to preserving his culture and to telling his people's stories.

His television credits include guest appearances on Friday the 13th: The Series (1987), MacGyver (1985), Northern Exposure (1990), The X-Files (1993), The Magnificent Seven (1998) and Smallville (2001). Tootoosis provided the voice of 'Kekata' in Disney's animated feature Pocahontas (1995) and Sheriff Gordy in Open Season (2006).

Apr 3, 2015 · Perry, the other bandit and a fellow Kaqwani, is played by Gordon Tootoosis, a veteran Native American actor. Both he and Lockwood do a great job, and I like the dynamic of Perry's inner conflict between wanting to get rich off the mask vs. wanting to do the right thing by his people.

Apr 23, 2020 · Gordon Tootoosis passed away on July 5th, 2011 at the age of 69 after being hospitalized with Pneumonia at the St. Paul Hospital in Saskatoon. We remember Gordon Tootoosis as being a great role model for all Native American people.
