Ismael Rodríguez Bou was born in a small town in the center of Puerto Rico (PR), son of Francisco Rodríguez, the town’s baker, and his wife Cristina Bou. He studied at the public schools of his town earning his high school diploma and obtaining the valedictorian award (the highest honor) of his class in 1928.
