Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata LH (29 July 1904 – 29 November 1993) was an Indian aviator, business magnate, entrepreneur and chairman of Tata Group . Born into the Tata Family of India, he was the son of noted businessman Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata and his wife Suzanne Brière.
When JRD was elevated to the top post in the Tata group in 1938, taking over as Chairman from Sir Nowroji Saklatvala, he was the youngest member of the Tata Sons board. Over the next 50-odd years of his stewardship the group expanded into chemicals, automobiles, tea and information technology.
