Jeffrey Hunter (born Henry Herman McKinnies Jr.; November 25, 1926 – May 27, 1969) was an American film and television actor and producer known for his roles in films such as The Searchers and King of Kings.

RIVER HILLS, Wis., June 8 (UPI) -- The death of Jeffrey Hunter, the actor, on May 27 has been attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage, his mother, Mrs. Henry H. McKinnies, said yesterday.
Several months later, Jeffrey Hunter suffered a stroke while walking down the stairs of his home, knocked over a platter, and struck his head on the banister, fracturing his skull. He was found unconscious by his visiting friend.
