Kenneth Campbell Stott (born 19 October 1954) is a Scottish stage, television and film actor who won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 1995 in the play Broken Glass at Royal National Theatre. He portrayed the dwarf Balin in The Hobbit film trilogy (2012–2014).

Balin is one of the dwarves and main protagonists of An Unexpected Journey and supporting character in its sequels. Portrayed by Ken Stott, Balin is the older brother of Dwalin and the distant cousin of Thorin Oakenshield and a member of Thorin Oakenshield and Company.
Balin : Don't mind him, laddie. Thorin has more cause than most to hate Orcs. After the dragon took the Lonely Mountain, King Thror tried to reclaim the ancient dwarf kingdom of Moria... but our enemy had got there first.
