Tahitian Matahi Drollet (PYF) was born November 2, 1997, and is the youngest surfer in this year's XXL Big Wave Awards. While most kids his age are excited about getting into R-rated movies with legit IDs, Drollet is excited about charging some of the world's heaviest big-wave barrels with older brother Manoa (PYF).
Over the course of the wave’s well-documented history, a sizable percentage of its iconic images have been shot from Bjarn’s boat. By the time Drollet was born, his eldest brother, Manoa, was 20 years old and beginning to make a name for himself as one of the best young surfers in Tahiti.
