May 2, 2023 · Matt Long creates a range of functional pieces. He is known for jugs, flasks, whiskey cups, and mugs that reference German salt ware and early American pottery. Long throws porcelain forms that are then dipped in thick slip used to produce the soft rippling surfaces. He fires in a soda atmosphere.
