Aug 6, 2017 · Pocahontas State Park is the largest state park in Virginia, with over 64 miles of multi-use trails, three lakes, camping, and two dining halls, just to name a few amenities.
Just 20 miles from downtown Richmond, Pocahontas offers boating, picnicking, camping, hiking and a wide range of interpretive and environmental education programs. Rowboat, paddleboat, kayak and canoe rentals also are available at the 200-acre Swift Creek Lake during the summer.
These 9.5 miles of trails are a combination of rake and ride as well as hand-built sections. With long lines and rolling terrain, users who want a rough tread and moderately tight turns find that this system fits the bill. True to its name, the trail affords excellent views of the lake.

Plenty of stuff to do...bike and hiking trails, HUGE pool area with water park-style features, tons of picnic facilities and covered pavilions available for rent. The restrooms were clean and provided great water pressure and hot showers.
Pocahontas State Park is a state park located in Chesterfield, Virginia, United States, not far from the state capitol of Richmond. The park was laid out by the Civilian Conservation Corps along the Swift Creek, and at 7,919 acres (32.05 km 2) is Virginia's largest state park. In 2015, the park welcomed 1,142,601 visitors.
Flocks of wild turkey and numerous white-tailed deer can also be seen throughout the park year-round.
