- It Came from Outer Space (1953) With the exception of a handful of short stories adapted for various early 1950s anthology TV shows, this was the first relatively major film based on Bradbury's work and still remains one of the finest.
- The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953) The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms was based loosely on a Bradbury short story called "The Fog Horn." Specifically, one scene in the movie -- where the giant reptile known as a Rhedosaurus destroys a lonely lighthouse -- was the main focus of Bradbury's story, which he published around the same time that the company behind the movie, Mutual Films, was developing its project.
