Robert Pirosh (April 1, 1910 – December 25, 1989) was an American screenwriter and film director. [2] He is most known for his war and military-themed works, inspired by his experiences as a U.S. Army infantryman during World War II.
His most notable success was garnering the Academy Award for his screenplay of Battleground (1949), a film based on the Second World War Battle of the Bulge in which he had himself fought as a Master Sergeant with the 35th Infantry Division.
