   • Sherwood Island State Park is a nicely spacious state park and beach in Westport. I didn't know that it was the first state park in Connecticut! There's a lot to see and do here. I was here during the winter months to check it out with my new puppy, unfortunately dogs are only allowed during the off season (and never on the beach.)
