Ironic that the biggest name in this film, Tom Cruise, has the smallest role in The Outsiders. The main character of the film is C. Thomas Howell who is the youngest of three brothers who are orphaned with oldest Patrick Swayze raising his siblings as best he can. The middle brother is Rob Lowe.
