I was urged by a movie reviewer to see this film, describing it as one of the best action movies ever made. And you have to agree, this film, after providing a few minutes of backstory, takes off straight into the police raid of the apartment building filled with bad guys and a gang lord.
The Raid is a 2011 Indonesian action thriller film written and directed by Gareth Evans and produced by Ario Sagantoro. The film stars Iko Uwais , Joe Taslim , Donny Alamsyah , Ray Sahetapy and Yayan Ruhian .
The mission is a raid on a large apartment complex ruled by a kingpin drug dealer. Tama (Ray Sahetapy) is an unusually convincing character of this type, not a fighter himself but an organiser, paranoid, ruthless, convincingly capable of keeping control.
