At a swank party, attended by some of LA's high society and police dept. VIPs, in honor of Angel's brother-in-law, Aaron, being made Chief of Police, a robbery takes place, while Lt. Doug Chapman is in charge of security.

When knowledge of a critically ill convict's hidden fortune comes to light, Rockford becomes involved in helping the con's wife find the treasure before his former partner arrives and demands his share.
[1] Premise. Rockford's investigation of a missing woman takes him to a local cemetery. Rockford has a few heated words with would-be private eye Freddie Beamer (James Whitmore Jr.).
This classic TV series centers on Jim Rockford (James Garner), a top-shelf private investigator with a background his clients would never expect. A former jailbird who lives in a trailer in Malibu, Jim has a fine-tuned sense of justice that was honed when he was framed for a crime.
