Todd’s interest in writing began when his sister, a lit major at Wheaton College outside Chicago, recommended he take a poetry class. “I’ve never really had a strategy for my career,” he noted. “It really has unfolded for me.” He said being a producer is an “amorphous” job that’s hard to define.
Nov 14, 2023 · During his sophomore year, he met Wheaton alum and filmmaker Todd Komarnicki, who had just produced Elf and had come to speak on campus. Coleman approached him after his talk and made plans to meet Komarnicki over coffee in NYC. A mentoring relationship was born.
Todd Komarnicki ’87 is a prolific writer, producer, and director of film and television as well as an acclaimed novelist. He has written plays for the stage, screenplays, and has sold television pilots to many networks.
