Beach was 1975 US Champion in all-around. At the NCAAs, he won the 1976 horizontal bar and was second in all-around that year. He continued competing after the 1976 Olympics, making the 1983 Pan American Games team, where he won silver medals with the team and on parallel bars. Beach was inducted into the U Cal Berkeley Athletic Hall of Fame.
