This film's strength is that it is a love story first and a football story second. It certainly is a great story of a man learning to love his wife all over again. The film's weakness is that the artwork presents it as a football movie, and several scenes make it out to be about the underdog beating the big guys.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 38% based on reviews from 13 critics. [3] Joe Leydon of Variety called it "A lightweight and overlong feel-good drama that plays like a mashup of It's a Wonderful Life and Friday Night Lights ."

As a teen, he grabs a couple beers out of the fridge when sitting down for a chat with his coach. When Coach balks at the idea of Scott drinking, the younger man covers with, “Uh, they’re both for you.”.
