His two brothers are Benjamin and Iddo. Benjamin (nicknamed "Bibi") was elected Prime Minister of Israel in 1996, in 2009 and reelected in 2013, 2015, 2020 and 2022. Iddo, the youngest of the three, is a radiologist and writer. All three brothers served in Sayeret Matkal.
Yoni’s brothers Benjamin “Bibi” and Iddo were born while the family lived in Talpiot. In 1955, the Netanyahu family moved to a permanent home in Katamon, a district of Jerusalem. In order to further Benzion’s historical research, the family went back to the United States in 1957, but soon returned to Jerusalem in 1959.

At first the family lived in Talpiot, a southern neighborhood of Jerusalem, where Yoni’s brothers Benjamin (Bibi) and Iddo were born. In 1955 the family moved to their permanent home in the Katamon district of Jerusalem. There Yoni attended the local school “Darom”.
