  2. Alfonso II of Naples is most famous for being the king of Naples and Sicily from 1285 to 1337. He was the son of Charles I of Anjou, who was the son of King Louis IX of France. Alfonso II was crowned king of Naples in 1285 and he ruled for 44 years.
