  1. Seems he's taking the term"modernism" a bit literally. I agree it is specious and more than a little problematic to have an era labeled as "modern," but never the less the term is there. Modernists chose their own label and changed the way we think about the words just as the Nazis gave that name its meaning and any group defines themselves.
