Surrounded by a park with ancient trees and vast glasshouses, the castle has over 300 rooms, containing a legacy of furniture and precious, eclectic collections ranging from paintings to archaeological finds and through to surprising ornithological and oriental collections.
Told in the works of Filippo d'Agliè and Guido Gozzano, the village has a clearly recognisable symbol: the Castello Ducale. The building, part of the Canavese castle circuit, dates back to the 12th century and throughout its history was the summer residence of the Savoy family.
Agliè is home to one of Piedmont's Royal Residences, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997: the Ducal Castle of Agliè, a history spanning seven centuries, which has seen the passage of dukes, princes and kings.
The Castello Ducale has a monumental façade with two stairs and a fountain; the interior includes 300 rooms, mostly provided with contemporary furniture. The castle is surrounded by large English- and Italian-style gardens.
