    Christine or Christina of Saxony, was born 25 December 1505, probably at Dresden,; the third, but eldest surviving daughter of Georg 'der Bärtige' (the Bearded), Herzog von Sachsen (Duke of Saxony), and his wife, Barbara, Princess of Poland.
