Drake Kaserne (Frankfurt am Main) Drake Kaserne. (Frankfurt am Main) Drake Kaserne became the headquarters of the U.S. Army's 3d. Armored Division when it "Gyroscoped" from Fort Knox, Kentucky to Germany in the spring of 1956. It remained so until the Division was deactivated on 17 JAN 1992.

(2) The 503rdh S&T Battalion (1966) was located at Edwards Kaserne, Frankfurt (STATION LIST, 31 Dec 1966). When the 503rd Avn Bn, Fliegerhorst Kaserne, Hanau, was inactivated in 1967, Detachment "C" was activated and attached to the 503rd S&T Bn.
