It was while visiting Lausanne in 1932 that Edelmira, 26, and Alfonso, 25, first met, at a Lausanne sanatorium, where the Prince was being treated for hemophilia.

This buried at the end of the main street in Woodlawn Park Cemetery in Miami, Florida with the remains of her older sister Elizarda Sampedro, both can be found in Section 17, # 38.
