His modern eclectic painting style included references to Abstract Expressionism, Impressionism, Cubism, and even Renaissance art. In 2008 Bennett was honored with the “Lifetime Achievement” award given annually by the “Angels of the Arts”.

Dec 27, 2013 · The Member Gallery exhibition, The Many Faces of Gale Bennett, will feature a collection of portraits of Bennett by his workshop students. Most pieces in the exhibition will be for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Alliance for the Arts.
Born in Paris, lived and painted there until 1991. Then settled in Giverny and work on iron :metal plates cut and welded in “ bas-relief “, wall sculptures with a play on shadows and empty spaces, from a primitive reminder of metal to the finess of gold leaves and glazed oil.
Gale Bennett is known for his paintings of landscapes, portraits, human figures and still lifes. He is the founder and director of Art Study Giverny in Giverny, France, a school for American artists.
