Hair Metal is the name of the genre itself. How many 80s Hair Bands were there? By our estimation, there were 177 hair metal bands in the 1980s and early, early 1990s.
- Poison. Musically, Poison is far from the greatest hair metal band of all time, but when the genre is brought up, this should be the first group that comes to mind.
- Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi is another band that might be on the line when talking about whether it belongs in the hair metal category. We think it does, and if that's the case it needs to be near the top of the list.
