The published results say they are 99.1% accurate. I understand that the test looks for a y chromosome in the fetal DNA of the mother's blood. If it doesn't detect a y chromosome, then you're told you're having a girl and that's pretty reliable, definitive results. If it detects the y chromosome then it means boy.
Our test came back girl and from what I've read here and elsewhere that seems like it should be pretty accurate (12 weeks is a few weeks after their suggested earliest test date, so I don't think it's too early).
