Feb 12, 2015 · You could just pick up the CTA #19 United Center Express or #20 Madison bus routes - or take a cab to get out to the United Center from the Loop. In particular, the dedicated express #19 busseems to be very interesting to get to the game and back: I emphasised the non-stop part, as fewer stops can indeed make the ride safer.
Another option could be using a dedicated (private) shuttle. Posts on tripadvisor forums suggest various restaurants offering such services to their patrons. Taking a random one from the list indeed shows the existence of such services.

You can catch it at Upper Illinois & Michigan Ave. http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/bus/bus/19united.pdf. A cab from your hotel will run around $8.00. Catching a cab after a United Center event can be difficult.
