Review by Quiller ★★★. Although it pales beside some of Warner Bros’ other crime melodramas, this film is a good example of why the studio was so beloved of working-class audiences. Paroled ex-con George Raft wants to go straight, but society as a whole doesn’t care if he reintegrates or not.
