Cult film star Felissa Rose, known for her role as Angela in the 1983 slasher Sleepaway Camp, has stated she hopes to see a prequel to the classic horror film soon. After its release in the early 1980s, the film has since reached cult status, and spawned three sequels, from 1988 to 2008.
Hiltzik reportedly planned a further sequel following Return titled Sleepaway Camp Reunion, initially announced to be released in October 2011, but it is unknown if it evolved past the pre-production stages.
Sleepaway Camp 4 Was Actually The Fifth Film Released In The Series. Plans for Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor went into motion in 1992, but it was during the filming of the sequel that the movie's production company, Double Helix Films, went bankrupt.
