If you stopped this movie 20 or so minutes before the end-credits, you'd walk away with a message that is insanely depressing. And those final 20 minutes feel tacked on, like they watched their own movie and realized that they made a romantic comedy promoting segregation, so they stuck on those last couple of scenes to lightend the blow.
