For over 35 years Janet Farrar-Royce has been a professional classical violist, fiddler and string teacher. She has coordinated, adjudicated and conducted several youth symphonies, festival orchestras, and was the founder of Wallingford Festival Strings, Wallingford Summer Arts Camp, and the Cheshire Community Music School.
Janet Farrar-Royce has been a professional classical violist, private and public school string teacher, and conductor for more than twenty-five years. For the last two years she has been studying the various genres of fiddling to expand her own performing horizons and to bring these genres of her instrument into her teaching.
Janet Farrar-Royce After playing professionally in show pits and orchestras for awhile I fell into public school string teaching and fell in love! Over the last 10 years, with the Advent of the National Standards of Music Education, I have become a part of the Alternative Styles movement with ASTA and MENC.
