Carlton Jebediah Lassiter (b. April 11, 1968), also known as Lassie, is a main character and Head Detective of the Santa Barbara Police Department. He was demoted to a regular police officer in "No Trout About It", but regained his position of detective as of "Cog Blocked" and is currently the Chief of Police.
One of the main supporting characters of the detective comedy-drama show Psych, Lassiter is a ten-year veteran of the Santa Barbara Police Department, and the youngest Head Detective ever named to the force. He also has a Master's Degree in Criminology.

Jul 16, 2020 · Lassiter's stroke in Psych 2: Lassie Come Home was actually written around the real-life medical situation of the actor that plays him, Timothy Omundson. Carlton Lassiter, one of the main characters through all eight seasons on Psych , was stuck in a hospital for the entire movie and was, unfortunately, unable to participate in the action.
He also played a major character in the 2006 series Psych where he portrayed Detective Carlton Lassiter. This also includes three television movies based on the series produced by the USA Network called Psych: The Movie in 2017, Psych 2: Lassie Come Home in 2020, and Psych 3: This Is Gus which was released in November 2021.
