Lies My Mother Told Me is a 2005 Canadian television drama film directed by Christian Duguay. The film aired on March 7, 2005 on the Lifetime network.
It is loosely based on the true story of Elisa McNabney, who murdered her husband Larry in 2001 with the help of college student Sarah Dutra.
The film follows con artist Laren Sims who goes on the run with her daughter, Haylei and commits various crimes. After she marries wealthy attorney Lucas MacKenzie, Laren's past catches up to her and threatens to destroy her new life.
