She paints on site in all seasons in oils. Working from her own photography, from wilderness trips she paints large iconic paintings on canvas in the studio and winter months. Linda is an elected member of Society of Canadian Artists and Artists for Conservation. She belongs as a member to East Central Ontario Artists Association.
One of her paintings, Slide, was included in a juried exhibition at the University of Wisconsin (circa 1964). It is here that the creative spirit is awakened in me, whether through the lens of my camera or through my easel and paints on site. It is here that the beauty of the natural world speaks to me as the timeless freedoms of the days unfold.
She paints plein air (in any season), takes photographs and sketches, constantly exploring light, form and color through her wilderness treks. The reference material that she documents in the field is brought back to the studio where her larger pieces are created.
