Lucy Fischer retired in 2018 as a Distinguished Professor of English and Film Studies. She directed the Film Studies Program at Pitt for three decades. Beyond teaching she has also had film curatorial experience at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City and The Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh.
Lucy Fischer (born 1945) is an American film studies scholar currently Distinguished Professor at University of Pittsburgh. [1] In 2001–03 Fisher was a President of the Society for Cinema and Media Studies. [2]
Lucy Fischer has served as president of the Society for Cinema and Media Studies (2001–03) and has also served as the organization's vice president. As its Conference Program Committee chair, she has twice hosted and organized its annual national conference in Pittsburgh.
