Meeks Bay Campground is located on National Forest lands on the west shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe and is operated under a special use permit by the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California. Desolation Wilderness is nearby and easily accessed for excellent day hiking and backpacking.
Meeks Bay Campground has 40 campsites and is just a few hundred feet from the shores of Lake Tahoe and open from mid-May to mid-October. The campground is on the west shore of Lake Tahoe and is mostly flat with paved roads and parking pad.

Meeks Bay Campground is on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, 10 miles south of Tahoe City and 8 miles north of Emerald Bay. From the campground visitors can take advantage of trails into the Desolation Wilderness , sandy beaches along the Lake Tahoe shore, and a new bike path.

Meeks Bay Campground is uniquely situated between the two California State Parks of Sugar Point Park and D.L. Bliss on the west shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe. There is also easy access into Desolation Wilderness for excellent day hiking and backpacking.
