Mervyn LeRoy (* 15. Oktober 1900 in San Francisco; † 13. September 1987 in Beverly Hills) war ein US-amerikanischer Filmregisseur und Filmproduzent, der eine Reihe von kommerziell sehr erfolgreichen Filmen inszenierte.
Based on Louisa May Alcott's 1868–69 two-volume novel of the same name, it was filmed in Technicolor and was produced and directed by Mervyn LeRoy. [2] [3] The screenplay was written by Sally Benson, Victor Heerman, Sarah Y. Mason, and Andrew Solt. The original music score was composed by Adolph Deutsch and Max Steiner.
Produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and filmed in Technicolor, it was directed by Mervyn LeRoy from a screenplay by S. N. Behrman, Sonya Levien, and John Lee Mahin. It is the fourth screen adaptation of Sienkiewicz's novel.
Mervyn LeRoy was an American motion-picture director whose wide variety of films included dramas, romances, epics, comedies, and musicals. He also produced films, including the classic The Wizard of Oz (1939).
