One of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in Europe, the Old Jewish Cemetery was in operation from at least 1439 and was closed in 1787. The Cemetery is located in the Jewish Quarter on a small plot of land between the Pinkas Synagogue and the Klausen Synagogue .
